Roles and powers of the Council

Review legislation, laws, regulations, programs, and other regulatory instruments related to occupational safety and health ,and propose the necessary amendments in accordance with the applicable legal procedures.

Develop and adopt a clear and well-defined national governance framework for occupational safety and health to ensure an effective and flexible system for implementing occupational safety and health requirements in the workplace, in coordination with the relevant authorities.

Promote collaboration among employers, workers, and their representatives to enhance occupational safety and health.

Coordinate roles and responsibilities among government entities responsible for occupational safety and health to prevent duplication of efforts.

Review periodic reports relevant to occupational safety and health.

Provide advisory and technical support services in the field of occupational safety and health.

Approve national programs and initiatives related to occupational safety and health, in coordination with the relevant government authorities.

Promote awareness of the importance of occupational safety and health in coordination with the relevant authorities

Develop an effective and comprehensive monitoring and evaluation system for occupational safety and health, in coordination with the relevant authorities.

Develop resources and capabilities in the field of occupational safety and health, in coordination with the relevant authorities.

Develop a comprehensive national program for the reporting of occupational accidents, work-related injuries, and occupational diseases, including the documentation of reports and the outcomes of related investigations, in coordination with the relevant authorities.

Evaluate and monitor the impact and sustainability of occupational safety and health activities within the work environment.
