Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of Hail Region and Chairman of the Board of Hail Development Authority, and in the presence of His Excellency Eng. Ahmad bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health (NCOSH) signed two memoranda of cooperation with Hail Development Authority and the University of Hail. The memoranda aim to expand cooperation and partnerships, promote the exchange of expertise and knowledge, and support joint initiatives and programs in occupational safety and health. NCOSH was represented at the signing of both memoranda by its Deputy Secretary-General, Eng. Rayan Alzoreki. This step forms part of the Council’s efforts to build effective strategic partnerships with development and academic entities and expand cooperation with relevant stakeholders, ensuring that their roles complement one another and enhancing awareness and preventive practices in workplaces. The memorandum of cooperation with Hail Development Authority covers several areas of joint work, including developing training and awareness programs, implementing occupational safety and health initiatives, exchanging expertise, and benefiting from the Council’s specialized programs. It also provides for supporting the Authority with specialized training programs, including the Cadres Program and the program for investigating occupational accidents and injuries. The memorandum also includes cooperation in organizing meetings, workshops, and specialized programs, as well as exploring opportunities to provide advisory and training services to relevant projects and entities. This cooperation supports the integration of occupational safety and health concepts and requirements into development projects and programs, promotes preventive practices, and enhances readiness and efficiency. On the academic front, the memorandum of cooperation with the University of Hail includes strengthening cooperation in training and awareness, exchanging knowledge and expertise, implementing joint programs and initiatives, and organizing specialized forums, seminars, conferences, and workshops in occupational safety and health. The memorandum also includes the University’s participation in awareness campaigns and initiatives implemented by the Council and drawing on both parties’ academic capabilities, knowledge, and expertise. This cooperation contributes to raising occupational safety and health awareness among university personnel, promoting a culture of prevention among students and the community, and supporting the transfer of specialized knowledge and professional practices. NCOSH works to strengthen strategic partnerships as a key enabler for developing the Kingdom’s occupational safety and health system. Through cooperation with government, development, and academic entities, the private sector, and other relevant stakeholders, the Council seeks to unify and integrate efforts, exchange knowledge and expertise, develop national capabilities, and promote the implementation of best practices in workplaces. Through these partnerships, the Council also seeks to broaden the impact of national occupational safety and health programs and initiatives, support capacity building, enhance awareness and prevention, and encourage entities to adopt more efficient and sustainable practices in managing occupational risks and protecting workers. The two memoranda of cooperation with Hail Development Authority and the University of Hail reflect this direction by bringing together the development dimension and the academic and knowledge dimension. This approach expands the reach of specialized programs and initiatives and strengthens the integration of occupational safety and health concepts into projects, workplaces, and educational institutions. This step builds on the Council’s role in developing an integrated national occupational safety and health system, promoting a culture of prevention, and strengthening cooperation and coordination among relevant stakeholders. It contributes to creating safer, healthier, and more sustainable workplaces and supports the Kingdom’s goals of developing an attractive and sustainable labor market and improving the quality of working life
